Date: Saturday February 4th, 2017
Location: Minto Senior’s Hall, O’leary Lane, Minto, NB. E4B 3M5: Directions
Time: Registration 9:30 to 10:30am. Race Start 11:00am. There will be an ~500m ride from the Seniors Hall to the race start.
Cost: $35 (with or without VeloNB membership)
Format: The race will take place in a wave/time trial format. Participants will self-organize into waves of 5 participants, with waves leaving at 1:00 minute intervals. Starting order is at the discretion of the organizer, with the fastest anticipated waves starting first. Friendly side-wagering is encouraged within the waves.
Course: The course will be ~10-15km in length, comprising dualtrack/snowmobile trail and groomed singletrack. While we have a loop in mind, pending conditions, the course may not be set until a day or two in advance. The goal is for the top riders to be on course for ~1hr.
Equipment: Odds are fatbikes will be the weapon of choice. Knowing however there is a chance the trail surface could be bare or icy, bike selection is at the discretion of the rider. Please note, if the conditions are optimal for fatbikes, participants choosing to use a bike with tires less than 3.8″ wide will be started in later waves to avoid ‘chewing’ up the trail for other racers.
